Don't sleep on other Nintendo series amiibos either - they most likely work, but without any exclusive Splatoon bonuses.
From my personal experience, the new Splatoon 3 amiibos (when released) will definitely work and they often unlock exclusive gear! Keep your eyes peeled for those!
