Gold-plated Pokemon cards are exactly what they sound like - they're regular Pokemon cards that have a thin layer of real gold applied to them. This gold layer is super thin, just enough to give it that shiny, luxe look without breaking the bank. They're more for show and collectibility than actual game play.

Just a heads up, gold-plated doesn't mean solid gold. It's basically a fancy term for saying 'this card looks awesome but don't go trying to melt it down for cash'.

They're not made of solid gold, if that's what you're thinking. It's just a regular card with a thin gold plating. More of a collector's item than something you'd use in your deck for Saturday's game.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
