Super Mutants in Fallout 4 are these big, mean, green killing machines. They're humans who got transformed by this thing called the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). Basically, they're not the friendliest folks in the wasteland - they're super strong, aggressive, and generally have a grudge against anything that isn't them. If you see one, it's probably a good time to either get your biggest gun or run in the opposite direction.
They're actually tragic characters if you think about it. Once humans, now turned into hulking monsters because of the FEV virus. They're a reminder of the dangers of unchecked scientific experimentation in the Fallout universe. And yeah, they want to kill you really bad, but who in the wasteland doesn鈥檛?
