In the periodic table, groups are the vertical columns. The most popular ones? Alkali metals, noble gases, and halogens!

The periodic table groups are columns, and each group contains elements with similar chemical properties. For instance, Group 1 is the alkali metals, Group 2 the alkaline earth metals, Group 17 the halogens, and Group 18 the noble gases. Cool, huh?

Groups? Fancy way of saying columns in the Periodic Table. Simple as that!

I've worked with the Periodic Table for years, and groups are the vertical columns. Elements in the same group share characteristics, like Group 17 or halogens. They never cease to amaze with their reactivity!
