When it comes to rare Pokemon cards, the 'Holy Grail' is the Pikachu Illustrator Card, awarded only to winners of a 1998 CoroCoro Comic Illustration Contest in Japan. Only about 20 to 39 copies exist! Then there's the Charizard First Edition Shadowless Holo from the Base Set, a dream for collectors due to its iconic status and rarity. The Black Lotus is another gem, but wait, wrong game! Let's not forget about the Number 1 Trainer Card, a promo given to finalists in the early Pokemon World Championships. Keep an eye out for Pre-Release Raichu cards too, rumored to exist but unconfirmed by official sources, like Bigfoot!

Rare? You gotta check out the 1995 Japanese Promo Kangaskhan from the Parent/Child Mega Battle Tournament. It's so rare that seeing one is like finding a unicorn!

Honestly, the whole 'rarity' thing in Pokemon TCG is overblown. Just enjoy the game with the cards you love!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
