SAO definitely came first! I've been a huge fan since it aired in 2012. Log Horizon followed a year later in 2013.

Sword Art Online (SAO) came first! It started airing in July 2012, while Log Horizon premiered in October 2013. Both are great in their unique ways though!
Log Horizon rocks, but SAO beat it to the punch by about a year.
