I had an Xbox 360 that got the Red Ring of Death twice. Both times it was because it overheated and the solder connections failed. Luckily, I was under warranty!
The infamous Red Ring of Death (RROD) on the Xbox 360 mostly came from overheating issues that caused hardware failures. It's like the console's way of throwing a digital tantrum!
Thermal issues. Poor motherboard design. Google it.
