The copyright on the bottom of a Hot Wheels car is basically there to tell you that this design is protected. So, someone can't just come along, copy the design, and start selling their own little versions without getting in trouble. It's like Hot Wheels' way of saying 'This cool car? Yeah, we made it, and you can't just duplicate it willy-nilly.'

lol, it means hands off! Hot Wheels came up with the design so it's theirs. No touchie or making your own without asking.

The copyright mark on those tiny cars is Hot Wheels stamp of ownership. It shows when the model was made and claims their rights to the design, so it's off-limits for copying. I've seen some rare ones with early dates that are super collectible now.
