As someone who鈥檚 watched all of Tokyo Ghoul, Season 3 is basically a rebrand. Kaneki鈥檚 now Haise Sasaki, and it鈥檚 all about his new squad and mission. Trust me, it's worth watching!
Tokyo Ghoul Season 3, also known as Tokyo Ghoul:re, picks up two years after the events of Season 2. Ken Kaneki has lost his memories and now goes by the name Haise Sasaki. The show focuses on his new life as an investigator for the CCG, dealing with ghouls while slowly recovering his past.
Short version: Tokyo Ghoul Season 3 = Tokyo Ghoul:re. Ken Kaneki has amnesia, new identity, and works for CCG. Still awesome, just different vibe.
