One of the crown jewels in any collection is the Pikachu Illustrator card, rumored to have fewer than 40 copies in existence. This card was given to winners of a promotional contest in Japan back in 1998, making it extremely rare and valuable. Its rarity and the story behind its distribution are why it's often considered the Holy Grail of Pokemon cards.

If we're talking super rare, you can't forget the 1996 Japanese Base Set No Rarity Symbol Charizard. This bad boy is the OG of rare Pokemon cards. Why? Because early prints accidentally left off the rarity symbol, making these particular Charizards a collector's dream.

Honestly, just go for any first edition shadowless card. Those are like gold in the Pokemon TCG world.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
