Skull Cavern is like the adventurous, thrill-seeking cousin of the Mines you've already been spelunking in Stardew Valley. Located in the Calico Desert, this cavern is deeper, darker, and packed with stronger monsters and more valuable treasures. Unlike the Mines, Skull Cavern has no end, so you can delve as deep as your bravery (and supplies) allow. The deeper you go, the better the loot. Just don't forget to bring plenty of food and bombs, and watch out for those pesky serpents!

Short answer: It's where you go to test your limits in Stardew Valley. Think of it as an endless pit of opportunity and danger. Great rewards but easy to get knocked out by monsters if you're not careful!
Skull Cavern? A glorified hole in the ground if you ask me. Sure, there are gems and stuff, but you're basically signing up for an all-you-can-fight monster buffet. Not my idea of fun, but to each their own.
