For the best balance of maneuverability and firepower, you can't go wrong with the Soviet planes.
Germany takes the cake if you love raw power and speed. Those BF-109s are no joke!
From personal experience, British Spitfires offer a good mix of agility and toughness. They've saved my bacon plenty of times!
