Just to throw in my two cents, I've noticed all my Pokemon cards are exactly 2.5" x 3.5". Seems like they're keeping it consistent with other trading card games.

They're literally the same size as most trading cards, 2.5x3.5 inches. Nothing fancy here, folks.
