Only the early 20GB and 60GB models (CECHCxx, CECHAxx) are backwards compatible with PS2 games. Later models dropped this feature.

The original 20GB and 60GB models from the launch era of the PS3 have backward compatibility with PS2 games. Be sure to check the model numbers (CECHCxx, CECHAxx) to verify!

The 80GB model (CECHExx) also had limited backward compatibility with PS2 titles, but it used software emulation, which wasn't 100% perfect.

If you want PS2 backward compatibility, look for an early 20GB or 60GB PS3 (CECHAxx or CECHCxx). They're your best bet!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
