You can also watch it by release order for a pure experience: Sword Art Online (2012), Sword Art Online II (2014), Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale (2017), Sword Art Online: Alicization (2018-2019), and Alicization - War of Underworld (2019-2020).

My favorite way is starting with the original series, then watching SAO II, the Ordinal Scale movie, and diving into the Alicization saga. It keeps it flowing nicely!

Forget the order, just jump in wherever and enjoy the ride! It's a virtual reality adventure, after all.

To watch Sword Art Online in chronological order, start with the first season (Aincrad and Fairy Dance arcs), then SAO II (Phantom Bullet, Calibur, and Mother's Rosario arcs), follow up with the movie Ordinal Scale, and continue with Sword Art Online: Alicization and then Alicization - War of Underworld.

If you're a Sword Art Online fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
