The most expensive Pokemon cards often include first editions and those in pristine condition. The Holy Grail among them is the Pikachu Illustrator card, awarded in a 1998 comic contest; only a few exist, and they can fetch hundreds of thousands at auction. The First Edition Shadowless Holographic Charizard is another big one, especially in mint condition. Prices go up to the sky, easily reaching tens of thousands. Rarity, condition, and historical significance skyrocket the value.

Honestly, most folks are wrong about the 'value' of these cards. It's more about what they mean to you. I've got a beaten-up Pikachu from my childhood worth more to me than a mint Illustrator Pikachu.

Charizard, no question. Everybody wants the shiny dragon, and nobody wants to pay their rent after buying one. If it's old, shiny, and breathes fire, it's probably worth a car.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
