Only the first generation of the PS3, specifically the 20GB and 60GB models, had hardware-based backwards compatibility with PS2 games. Look for models starting with CECHCxx or CECHAxx.

The original 20GB and 60GB models of the PS3 are backwards compatible with PS2 games. These are known as the 'fat' models.

Just get a PS2 if you want to play PS2 games. Easier and cheaper.

I still have my 60GB PS3 and it works like a charm with PS2 games! It's the model CECHAxx. Totally worth it if you can find one.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
