Hardmode? More like Farmmode. Prepare to spend hours farming for the new ores, souls, and other materials you need to make all the cool stuff. It's grindy but worth it when you craft that mega sword or finally beat one of the tough new bosses.
Priority one: get wings. It makes moving around your world and avoiding death by the new hardmode mobs so much easier. You can buy some from the Witch Doctor at night if you have him in a Jungle biome or craft them with souls of flight and other materials.
