I think it was pure magic... and some software tools. But mostly magic.
Plants vs Zombies was crafted with love, zombies, and a whole lot of pea shooters! But if we're talking software, it was developed using PopCap Games' proprietary engine which allowed it to bloom on a wide variety of platforms. The devs sprinkled in some creativity, strategy, and humor for good measure.
Definitely with a secret sauce of strategy, humor, and some solid coding skills. You can't get that addictive gameplay and the quirky charm of PvZ without a talented team behind it!
