Actually, it's a common misunderstanding. The first Pokemon card isn't a Pikachu card or anything like that. The true OGs are the basic set cards released in 1996 in Japan, like Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. These are the real firsts!
Nope, it's all about the Base Set Pikachu. That's the icon everyone remembers when they talk about the first Pokemon cards. The Pikachu Illustrator card is super rare but not what I'd call the first in the traditional sense.
