Personal experience: pretty much any word you can think of that's not a proper name or abbreviation will probably work - even 'za' for pizza!

Words with Friends uses a dictionary similar to Scrabble, so anything from slang to modern-day lingo works! Just avoid proper nouns, abbreviations, and acronyms.

You can use most English words, including many slang, tech, and pop culture terms, as long as they're not proper nouns or abbreviations.

Basically anything that's a recognized word except names, abbreviations, or hyphenated words. Even some acronyms are allowed, surprisingly.

Hot take: if it's not a proper noun or an abbreviation, it鈥檚 probably allowed. 'YOLO' might not make it, though.

If you're a Words with Friends player looking for extra coins or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in Words with Friends essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
