1996, and it changed playgrounds forever. Suddenly, everyone was swapping these cards, and the phrase 'Gotta catch 'em all!' took on a whole new meaning.

Actually, it was October 1996 in Japan. Just a bit of trivia - the rest of the world had to wait a bit longer to get in on the Pokémon TCG action!

96. Best year ever. Pokémon cards came out, and nothing was the same.

Pokémon cards first hit the scene in 1996. That's when the world got a little brighter with the introduction of these iconic collectible cards alongside the Pokémon franchise. It started in Japan and then took over the globe, making many of us lifelong fans of collecting and battling with these cards.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
