When to Mulligan in MTG
ScoldingIrony路7 months agoMulligan in MTG is more art than science, but a good rule of thumb is to consider it if you've got too many or too few lands in your opening hand. Too few lands mean you might not play your spells on time. Too many lands, and you won't have enough action. Also, think about your deck's strategy and if your hand supports it. If it doesn't, might be time to shuffle up for a new hand.

From personal experience, always mulligan if your initial hand doesn't align with your deck's win condition or if you have no early game plays. I've lost more games keeping a bad hand hoping to draw into something good than I have mulliganing for a better start.
Hot take: Don't mulligan too aggressively for the perfect hand, especially in more casual games. Sometimes, a less than ideal hand can lead to a more thrilling match. Adapt and overcome!
