Pokemon cards first hit the scene back in 1996 in Japan, and then they made their grand entrance into the US in 1999. So, if you've been collecting since day one, you've got some vintage treasure!

They started in '96 in Japan and got to us in '99. Basically, if your card smells like the 90s, it鈥檚 the real old-school deal.

1996 for Japan, 1999 for the US. Those are the magic numbers. Makes you wonder how something from the 90s is still so cool, right?

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
