For archiving posts, go to your profile, click 'Manage Posts,' and you'll find the 'Archive' option to hide posts from your timeline.
I had tons of old messages I didn't want to see anymore but didn't want to delete. Found them all in Messenger under 'Archived threads.'
Archives? Who needs 'em! Just keep everything out in the open, haha!
