It's hidden, but not too much. North part of the Savage Divide, look for a suspiciously guarded area. That's your golden ticket!
Vault 79 is nestled in the northern part of the Savage Divide. If you're staring at your map, it's northeast of the F.R.E.D.D.Y. Fear's House of Scares. Look for a road winding through the mountains there. Once you get close, you'll probably start a quest that'll lead you straight to it. Happy vault hunting!
