The Mushroom Forest is a great spot. You get access to tons of resources and it's close to important wrecks and biomes.

If you want a challenge and some epic views, try the Floating Island! Just watch out for those pesky crabsquids at night.

Definitely try building in the Shallows first, near Lifepod 5. You'll get easy access to early resources and it's relatively safe!

Why not the Blood Kelp Zone? It's creepy, sure, but you'll find some rare materials there! Just stay alert for Ghost Leviathans.

The Lost River! It's a bit advanced, but you'll get access to late-game resources and an amazing alien environment.
