Near the Blood Kelp Zone if you want a mid-to-late game base. You get access to deep resources and amazing biomes, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart.
The Jellyshroom Cave is an awesome spot if you like to live dangerously. Cool scenery, bioluminescence, and access to rare resources鈥攂ut beware the Jellyshroom Cave Crab Squids!
You can literally build your base anywhere in Subnautica, that's the beauty of it! Just pick a spot you like and go for it.
In the Grand Reef. It's deep enough to be challenging but has great resources and beautiful views. Plus, you get easy access to the Lost River.
