You've got a few options for stocking up on ammo in Fallout 76. First off, you can buy it from vendor bots found in various locations - look for train stations, they're a good bet. Another place is player-run vending machines; prices vary, but you might find some good deals. Also, don't forget about the Ammo Converter machine you get from the Season Pass - it lets you turn unwanted ammo into points, then use those points to get the ammo you actually need.

Honestly? Just scavenge and craft it. Buying ammo can get pricey, and there's a certain satisfaction in making your own. Lead, gunpowder, and steel are your best friends here.

Vendor bots are a rip-off for ammo. Stick to crafting or player vendors for the real deals.
