Oh, the elusive Shad! You can catch a shad in Stardew Valley during rainy days. Stick to the river – that's their favorite hangout. Specifically, you'll want to fish in the river in Pelican Town or by the mountain lake. They're a bit picky about the weather but don't worry, they bite during Spring, Summer, and Fall. So, grab your rod, wait for a downpour, and happy fishing!

Shad? Easy peasy. Rainy days, river. Spring, Summer, Fall. Don't overthink it.

Actually caught my first Shad by accident. Was just a rainy spring day, decided to fish in the river in town. Thought I snagged a boot at first, but nope, it was a Shad! They’re not too tough to catch if you’re fishing at the right time and place. Rainy days are your best bet, and stick to the river areas. Good luck!
