You can remove resource buildings like farms, quarries, lumber mills, and mines. Just tap on the building, select the demolish option, and you're done!

Just the resource buildings. Others are permanent.

From my experience, you can only remove resource buildings like farms, quarries, lumber mills, and mines. Other buildings are here to stay.
