In Slime Rancher, certain Gordos give you keys once they explode after feeding them enough food. The Pink, Rock, Tabby, Phosphor, Honey, Boom, and Rad Gordos each have keys that can unlock new areas. Just bring plenty of food!

From my experience, the Rock Gordo was always the go-to for me to snag a key early on. Just make sure you feed it veggies!
