Only the 60GB and 20GB launch models can play PS2 games, while all PS3 models can play original PlayStation (PS1) games.

If you're looking for PS2 compatibility, go for the 60GB (CECHCxx) or the 20GB (CECHBxx) models. Be careful with the later models, they lost that feature.

The original 60GB and 20GB models of the PlayStation 3 are fully backwards compatible with PlayStation 2 games. These are the holy grails of backward compatibility!

Honestly, just get a PS2 if you want full compatibility. Those PS3 models are hard to come by and usually cost a fortune.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
