Basically, each game has its own Link. They're all separate heroes with the same role, just in different eras and timelines of Hyrule.

As a big fan, I can say each Link is distinct but carries the same heroic spirit. For example, Breath of the Wild Link and Skyward Sword Link are unique to their games but share the legacy.

The Legend of Zelda series has multiple Links because each game usually features a different incarnation of the hero. So you've got the OG Link from the first game, Ocarina of Time Link, Wind Waker Link, Twilight Princess Link, and many more!

Just one Link, but he has a time machine. jk, each game has a different hero named Link because it's a recurring legend in Hyrule.
