Personally, I always recommend Liu Kang. He's versatile and has some killer moves that can adapt to different playstyles.

Go for Johnny Cage! His Hollywood attitude and hilarious moves make him super fun. Plus, he's great for trolling your friends.
If you're new, definitely try Scorpion or Sub-Zero! They're iconic and have a good mix of easy-to-learn moves.
Why not try out D'Vorah? She's unique with her bug moves and creepy factor. You'll stand out for sure.
