It's all about supply and demand! Modern Pokemon cards are produced in massive quantities, making them way more common than their vintage counterparts. Plus, with the game still actively being produced, there's always a fresh supply hitting the shelves. The true gems that could value a lot are usually the super rare or special edition cards, but even those can start off not worth much until time proves their rarity.

Honestly, compared to the cards from the '90s, modern cards just haven't had enough time to age like fine wine. Rarity and age add value. Give it a few decades and we might see a shift. Plus, the hype around certain cards and editions definitely plays a role in spiking their worth momentarily!

Hot take: Modern cards are just waiting for their moment. Today's common card could be tomorrow's rare artifact. Who knows, in 20 years, we might be kicking ourselves for not holding onto that seemingly abundant Pikachu.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
