Simply put, Nintendo has shut down the Splatoon 1 servers. It's a classic case of out with the old, in with the new!

Nintendo discontinued the Splatoon 1 online services to focus resources on newer titles. Time to join the squid squad in Splatoon 3 perhaps?

Maybe it's just time for Splatoon 1 to make way for its sequels. Join us in the more colorful battles of Splatoon 2 and 3.

Servers for older games like Splatoon 1 often go offline to allocate server resources better elsewhere. Gotta keep the fresh stuff fresh!

...you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

This includes gift cards from all your favorite brands, like Amazon, Starbucks, Apple, Roblox, and many, many more!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!
