There can be a few reasons why you can't find your friend on Fortnite. Make sure both of you have the correct in-game Epic Games usernames. Also, double-check your privacy settings aren't set to 'Private' or 'Friends Only'.
Make sure you both are on the same server region. Different regions can mess things up.
Epic Games have been known to have occasional server issues. If everything else checks out, it might be on their end. Try again later!
