The ending of Attack on Titan was designed to provide a complex and bittersweet conclusion to Eren's journey, reflecting the series’ themes of sacrifice and the cyclical nature of violence. What did you expect? A happy ending?

It ended that way because, in the end, not everyone gets their happy ending. Life's tough, and so is Attack on Titan.

I think it ended that way to highlight the consequences of revenge and war. Eren's path was always dark, and the ending was a fitting conclusion to his character arc.

Hajime Isayama wanted the ending to provoke thought and discussion, keeping the audience engaged even after the final episode. Love it or hate it, you gotta admit it’s effective!

Isayama was playing 5D chess with our emotions, wrapping things up in a way that forces us to re-evaluate everything we thought we knew about the characters and the story.
