Street Fighter didn't die with 3 at all! It just took a longer nap before coming back strong with Street Fighter IV.

SF3 was ahead of its time. The series needed a few years for gamers to catch up!

It didn't die, it was just hibernating! SF3 had a niche fanbase, but SFIV revived the series for the masses.
