Honestly, every Smash game feels a bit different. It might just take some time to get used to the Switch version.
It might be the Joy-Cons. They can sometimes feel a bit floaty compared to a Pro Controller or a GameCube controller.
Hot take: The Switch controls just aren't as good as the old GameCube controllers. Consider an adapter for a more classic feel.
I switched to the Pro Controller, and it made a huge difference for me. Worth a shot if you've got one lying around.
