Boruto has whisker-like marks on his face because he inherited them from his dad, Naruto, who got them due to Kurama's influence while he was still in Kushina's womb. It’s basically a family trait now!

Does it matter why he has lines on his face? The real question is why they're not trendy yet!

Boruto's facial lines are a genetic quirk he got from Naruto. No Kurama, no problem; the marks stayed!

I asked myself the same thing when my kid started watching it. Turns out, it's a nod to Naruto's upbringing and connection to Kurama, the Nine-Tails. Boruto inherited those marks from his dad, simple as that!
