It's just not optimized for iOS 17 yet, give it time. Games sometimes lag behind new OS updates.
Had the same issue after updating to iOS 17, cleared up some space on my phone and restarted it. Worked like a charm after that. Sometimes it's just your phone acting up, not the game.
