Why has Nintendo not updated Super Mario Maker?

From my experience, Nintendo tends to focus on the latest hardware. Super Mario Maker 2 on the Switch is where it's at!
Nintendo just stopped caring about the Wii U. Time to embrace the future and switch to the... well, Switch!
Nintendo moved on to bigger things! They released Super Mario Maker 2 on the Switch, so the original isn't getting any more love.
