It's got a lot of epic battles and sometimes gets a bit violent. Plus, there's a sprinkle of teen drama, so PG-13 makes sense.

Honestly, it's probably just the violence. I mean, superheroes fighting villains isn't exactly bedtime story material for the little ones!

As a fan, I'd say they keep it PG-13 because the show dives into some dark and serious issues alongside the usual hero fun, making it more appropriate for teens and up.
