Your character might be carrying too much weight in Starfield. Lighten your load by dropping unnecessary items or transferring stuff to your ship. Heavy is not always the best way to roll in space!

I had the same issue! It turned out my controller's joystick was slightly off-center. A quick recalibration got my space legs back!
