I had the same issue! It was totally the voice guidance. Pressing the * button four times did the trick for me.
Only reason Roku talks is if you enable voice guidance. Press * four times to silence it.
Roku might be talking to you because you accidentally activated the voice guidance feature. Try pressing the * button four times quickly to turn it off!
