It's simple supply and demand, really. Super low supply + insanely high demand = sky-high price. Plus, it’s a piece of Pokemon history, making it a must-have for serious collectors.

The Illustrator Pokemon card is one of those holy grails in the Pokemon TCG world. It’s ultra-rare, with only a handful ever made. It was given out as a prize in a drawing contest back in the '90s, and anything that scarce in the collector's world is bound to be worth a fortune. Plus, it's got that unique 'Illustrator' badge instead of the usual 'Trainer' one, which makes it stand out even more.

Honestly, it's just hyped up. There are cards just as rare but the Illustrator card has become a status symbol more than anything else. Other cards deserve the spotlight too!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
