Why Do the Royal Guards Die in Hunter x Hunter?
I believe the Royal Guards die because Togashi wanted to show the cost of loyalty and the complexity of the characters, making the story deeper and more gripping.

They bit the dust due to the epic battles with the Hunters, especially Netero and others who were determined to stop them at any cost. There was no other way!

The Royal Guards die because they sacrifice themselves to protect the King, Meruem. They are fiercely loyal, and that loyalty is their ultimate downfall.
