Anime adaptations often have to make adjustments for pacing, episode limits, and budget, which can lead to differences from the manga. Tokyo Ghoul is no exception, and its anime skipped some important plot points and character development to fit into fewer episodes.

To put it simply: anime time constraints! They had to condense the rich, detailed plot of the manga into a shorter, more digestible format for TV consumption.

The Tokyo Ghoul anime sometimes diverges from the manga due to different creative choices by the director and team. Basically, they wanted to take the story in a slightly different direction.

Honestly, the anime does what a lot of adaptations do鈥攊t simplifies and alters the storyline for a broader audience. Manga often has more intricate details that don't make the cut.
